Also called as sand moulded casting is one of the processes that utilize the sand as the mould material. Sand Casting is one of the casting processes that use expandable sand moulds for the formation of complex mould parts comparable to the alloy. While removing the portion the sand mould is destroyed.sand casting is said to have a bit low production rate.

Sand casting is a common method used for manufacturing various metal components of sizes from several tonnes to ounces. The process is being used in the creation of exceptionally detailed and complex castings and can cast an alloy made up of metal

Sand casting procedures comprised the use of a sand mould, furnace, pattern and metal. The metal used is allowed to melt at a high temperature in the furnace, and next step constitutes of ladling and pouring down melted inside the cavity of the sand mould. The sand mould is separated from the mould along a parting line and attached solidified casting needs to be removed. Sand casting is said to make a range of metal moulded components in quite complex geometries.

Cast Iron is to be described as the grey cast iron. The life of Iron starts with being pig iron, which is recycled and remelted by combining with the ample amount of scape iron and at times steel is also used for the same. Contaminants are said to be removed from the respective melted pig iron and is ready for cast now.

Casting is a process of pouring the melted iron into different moulds to give it a specific shape. The moulds and its pouring methods are said to be dividing the respective process up. The moulds are also classified into non-expandable or metal moulds or expandable or sand moulds.  The casted iron is allowed to rest for some time to solidify. The process is conducted quite carefully as if applied incorrectly can destroy the efforts of the user and the metal is again used as a scrape.

Do know quick cooling can produce fine grain construction while the slow cooling will be producing coarse construction. It is important to remember that Cast Iron, if not allowed to cool evenly make the quality of cast on a lower side. The casting iron perfectly is an art and must be experienced or examined to be understood entirely.
